The ForensiQ Engine
Our own analytical engine, powered by AI and machine learning
ForensiQ is not an off-the-shelf reporting tool. At its core is Click IT's own analytical algorithm, combined with AI and machine-learning models that learn what normal looks like for your business.
- Our own algorithmPurpose-built financial logic that reconciles, traces and scores your data - tuned to the way New Zealand businesses actually operate.
- Machine-learning modelsAnomaly detection, classification and forecasting models that learn the patterns in your own history to surface risk, leakage and opportunity.
- AI-assisted analysisAI helps read documents, match records and explain findings in plain language - always reviewed by a person before it reaches you.
- Predictive modelsTime-series forecasting and scenario modelling to project cash flow, revenue and cost under different assumptions.
Model choice and accuracy depend on the data available and the agreed scope. Every model output is reviewed by a person - we never present a prediction as a certainty.
What We Find
The answers a profit-and-loss report leaves out
ForensiQ combines forensic-style financial investigation, data preparation, AI-assisted analysis and business intelligence to help businesses understand their financial position, operational performance, risks and opportunities.
Your true financial position
A reconciled picture of how the business is actually performing - not just what a standard profit-and-loss report shows.
- Reconciled profit-and-loss reporting with traceable calculations.
- The difference between reported profit and the cash you can actually use.
- Comparisons across branches, departments, customers, products, projects and fleets where the data exists.
Where every cent goes
Transactions traced from their source through to reporting, so nothing is left quietly unexplained.
- Identify unexplained differences, duplicate payments, missing income, unexpected charges and unusual spending patterns.
- Investigate margin leakage, unnecessary costs and potentially missed billing.
- Clearly flag missing records and unresolved amounts rather than presenting incomplete totals as certain.
Late payments and customer exposure
A clearer view of who owes what, how they pay, and where your cash-flow exposure sits.
- Analyse overdue invoices, payment history, debtor concentration and collection trends.
- Flag customers whose payment behaviour may increase cash-flow exposure.
- Help teams prioritise follow-ups and review payment terms.
Customer retention and growth
Understand which customers are thriving, which are drifting, and where profitable revenue can grow.
- Identify declining customer activity, repeat-purchase trends and possible churn signals.
- Assess customer profitability and concentration risk.
- Highlight opportunities to retain valuable customers, improve service and increase profitable revenue.
Competitor, pricing and market intelligence
Pricing and positioning context drawn from available, permitted market information.
- Assess competitor pricing and positioning using available, permitted market information.
- Identify pricing pressure, margin opportunities and relevant international market trends.
- Monitoring coverage and frequency depend on the agreed service scope and available sources.
Forecasts, risks and practical actions
Forward-looking scenarios and a prioritised list of what to do next.
- Explore scenarios such as delayed customer payments, rising supplier costs or declining sales.
- Present forecast assumptions and uncertainty clearly.
- Prioritise recommendations by business impact, urgency and supporting evidence.
Lost Money & Fraud Detection
Lost money and fraud, surfaced early
ForensiQ looks for the patterns that quietly cost businesses money - duplicated payments, revenue that was earned but never billed, and transactions that fall outside normal behaviour. Findings are evidenced, ranked and handed to a person to confirm.
What we look for
- Duplicate and near-duplicate payments to the same supplier.
- Split or round-number invoices sitting just below approval thresholds.
- Unexpected supplier or payroll bank-detail changes.
- Ghost vendors and dormant accounts still being paid.
- Journal entries posted out of hours or by unusual users.
- Revenue leakage, missed billing and under-billed contracts.
- Credit notes or refunds with no matching return or approval.
- Expense claims, mileage and cash movements outside policy.
How detection works: Rule-based checks built around your approval limits and payment policies, anomaly scoring against your own history, then expert review of every flag before it is reported. Every finding links to the supporting records so it can be verified.
ForensiQ is not a certified fraud investigation and cannot guarantee that every issue will be detected. Results depend on the records, access and scope you authorise, and on data quality. Where a matter needs formal investigation, we will say so and help you take the right next step.
The Gap We Fill
What your accounting software will not do - and your accountant rarely has time to find
Accounting software records what happened and reports it back. ForensiQ investigates why it happened, what it cost you, and which records nobody has joined up.
Your accounting software will not
- Join up records that live in ten disconnected systems, spreadsheets and databases.
- Tell you what you delivered but never invoiced.
- Spot a supplier bank account changed, used, then quietly changed back.
- Explain why profit and cash disagree in language a board can act on this month.
Not a criticism - these platforms are built to record and report, not to investigate.
Even an excellent accountant can struggle to find
- A full year of transaction-level detail across several entities, systems and formats.
- Unbilled jobs, credit notes, rate discrepancies and leakage across thousands of lines.
- Fraud and anomaly patterns continuously, rather than once at review time.
- Data trapped in spreadsheets nobody owns or understands any more.
That is a question of time, tooling and margin - not capability.
That is exactly the gap ForensiQ fills
Your accountant keeps doing what they are best at - compliance, tax, assurance and advice. ForensiQ does the data-level forensic work there is rarely budget for: joining the systems, tracing every figure to its source, and hunting the leakage and the anomalies. You get answers you could not get before, and your accountant gets a cleaner, more complete picture.
Industries
Pretty much any industry - if your business runs on numbers
ForensiQ is not built for one sector. The same engine reconciles, traces and scores whatever your business already records, so it fits transport and trades as readily as retail, health, agriculture and professional services. These are examples of what we monitor - if your industry is not listed, ask us, because that is usually the interesting conversation.
Transport & logistics
Rates, fuel and every kilometre
- Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) applied on carrier and linehaul invoices, checked against the rate you agreed.
- Cost per kilometre, per run and per vehicle against what you actually charged for it.
- RUC, maintenance, tyres and driver hours weighed against revenue for each unit.
- Subcontractor invoices matched back to dockets, manifests and consignments.
Building, trades & construction
Materials, variations and retentions
- Wholesaler and merchant price movements on key materials - timber, steel, concrete, fittings and fixings.
- Quoted rates versus invoiced rates on every job, line by line.
- Variations and site instructions that were delivered but never priced or invoiced.
- Retentions held, due and quietly forgotten.
Accounting, legal & professional services
WIP, disbursements and write-offs
- Unbilled work in progress and disbursements sitting quietly in the ledger.
- Fees written off, written down or discounted without approval.
- Inland Revenue, GST, PAYE and provisional tax obligations, due dates and movements.
- Client and matter profitability once staff cost is applied.
Retail & e-commerce
Margin by product, fees and returns
- Gross margin by product, category and channel after payment and platform fees.
- Refunds, chargebacks, returns and gift-card liability treated as real costs.
- Stock shrink, stocktake variances and slow-moving inventory.
- Freight, packaging and marketplace commission hidden inside cost of sales.
Manufacturing & wholesale
Input costs, yield and scrap
- Raw material cost per unit measured against the standard cost you set.
- Scrap, rework, downtime and yield loss by line and by shift.
- Purchase price variance across suppliers, contracts and exchange rates.
- Bill of materials compared with what was actually consumed.
Agriculture, horticulture & forestry
Per-hectare and per-head returns
- Cost and return per hectare, per block, per crop and per mob.
- Contractor, fertiliser, spray and freight invoices checked against agreed rates.
- Harvest, yield and pack-out records reconciled with sales and storage.
- Seasonal cash flow and the funding gap that lands before harvest.

How we connect
Published APIs and webhooks, where the vendor provides them.
Secure database connections to systems you authorise.
Automated exports and scheduled file transfers where APIs are not available.
Bank and payment data through permitted feeds, including open banking APIs.
Integration availability depends on the system, the access method, your data and the agreed scope - we confirm feasibility during the technical assessment before any work begins. Certified & Confidential
Certified to ISO/IEC 27001 - and confidential by default
ForensiQ handles some of the most sensitive information a business holds. Information security and privacy are not an afterthought at Click IT: they are certified, documented, auditable and written into every engagement.
ISO/IEC 27001 certified
Click IT is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 - the international standard for information security management. It governs how we control access, protect client information and respond to incidents, and it is independently audited.
Privacy Act 2020
Personal information is collected, used, stored and disposed of in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner's guidance - including the information privacy principles and breach notification duties.
Confidential by default
We know how confidential this information is. Your financial and operational data is treated as confidential from the first conversation, under a written agreement, and only the people on your review ever see it.
- Authorised access only
- Confidential by default
- Least-privilege access
- Traceable reporting
Your Data Stays Yours
We don't move or copy your data - we do the analysis, you keep the data
ForensiQ works from authorised access to your existing systems. Your financial and operational data stays where it lives, under your control - we don't shift it onto someone else's platform, and we never sell or share it.
Your data stays where it is
Records stay in your systems - we analyse them with authorised access.
No moving, no selling
We never migrate it onto a third-party platform, sell it or share it.
Working data is controlled
Any working dataset is authorised, access-controlled and removed at the end.
Findings, not copies
You receive the insight and the evidence trail - not a duplicate of your data.
Handled under the Privacy Act 2020, our ISO/IEC 27001 certified information security management system, and a written agreement that sets out exactly what we may access, how it is protected, and for how long.
Confidentiality is written into every engagement: access is limited to the people working on your review, removed or reviewed when the engagement ends, and we keep confidential financial data confidential before, during and after the work. We are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement before any data is shared.
ForensiQ applies a forensic-style, evidence-led analytical approach. It is not a statutory audit, a certified fraud investigation, and it cannot guarantee that every issue will be detected. Findings are limited to the records, access and scope agreed for your review.
Questions
ForensiQ, asked and answered
ForensiQ is Click IT's business and financial intelligence service. It combines forensic-style financial investigation, data preparation, AI-assisted analysis and business intelligence to explain where money comes from, where it goes, what remains unaccounted for, and which actions deserve attention.
ForensiQ is designed to work with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage and most major accounting and ERP platforms, plus payroll, CRM, BI, cloud and SQL databases. New Zealand bank and payment data comes through permitted feeds such as open banking APIs, or authorised statements and exports. The right access method - API, database connection or scheduled export - depends on your configuration and permissions, and is confirmed during the technical assessment before any work begins.
Both, where the supporting records exist. Rule-based checks and anomaly scoring surface unusual transactions - duplicate payments, split invoices, unexpected bank-detail changes - for human review, and we trace delivered work, contracts and time records against what was invoiced to find missed billing and under-billed contracts. It is not a certified fraud investigation and cannot guarantee that every issue will be detected; findings depend on the records, access and scope you authorise.
We start analysing within a day, and for many projects you will have a clear view of where your business stands within 48 hours. Projects with ten or more separate data sources have been completed within 24 hours. Final timing depends on data availability, quality, access and the agreed scope, confirmed after the technical assessment.
Click IT is certified to ISO/IEC 27001, the international standard for information security management, and personal information is handled in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner's guidance. Your engagement is confidential by default: access is limited to the people working on your review under a written agreement, it is removed or reviewed when the engagement ends, and we are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement before any data is shared.
No. We work from authorised access to your existing systems, and your data stays where it lives, under your control. We don't migrate it onto a third-party platform and we never sell or share it. Where analysis needs a working dataset, it is created only with your authorisation, held under strict access control, and removed when the engagement ends.
ForensiQ is industry-agnostic. Because it works from the records your business already keeps, it fits transport and logistics, building and trades, professional services, retail and e-commerce, manufacturing and wholesale, agriculture, hospitality, health, property, automotive, education, councils and not-for-profits - and most sectors in between. What we can monitor depends on your systems, data quality, access and the agreed scope.
Both are needed, and they do different jobs. Accounting software records transactions and reports on them; ForensiQ investigates them - joining disconnected systems, tracing every figure to its source, finding unbilled work, leakage and anomalies, and testing the whole year rather than a sample. Your accountant brings judgement, tax expertise and assurance, but a compliance engagement rarely has the budget to reconcile thousands of transaction lines across multiple systems. ForensiQ does that data-level work and hands you findings you can act on, so your accountant starts with a cleaner, more complete picture.
Cost depends on scope, data sources and depth. We scope the work after understanding your goals and data, and quote before starting - with a clear view of what is and is not included.
Stop guessing about your business. Start seeing the full picture.
Whether your records live in spreadsheets, databases or several disconnected systems, ForensiQ helps investigate the numbers, reveal the gaps, and identify your next steps.
Every review includes
- A clear business-position summary
